AIR TRANSPORTATION: Detroit Metropolitan Airport is 30 miles east of Ann Arbor. Conlin Travel of Ann Arbor will provide conference participants flying Northwest Airlines from North American cities a 5% discount of the lowest available fare or 10% off regular coach fare. GROUND TRANSPORTATION FROM DETROIT METROPOLITAN AIRPORT:
Golden Limousine (1-800-300-5151) will provide round trip sedan and van service between Ann Arbor and Detroit Metro Airport.
The van service is curbside pick up at Detroit Metro Airport. The pick up location is outside of Baggage Claim
at the Rental Car Shuttle Bus Stop. Cross over the first TWO lanes of traffic and you will see the shuttle bus
location directly across from the Lower Level Baggage Claim doors. The shuttle runs at the top of each hour
(6:00. 7:00, 8:00, etc.) but only runs when there are reserved passengers. The one way rate for shuttle service
is $25.00 per person. This shuttle runs from 7 AM until 10:00 PM. Please call in advance, there may be an added
charge for same day reservations depending upon rider volume.
Dedicated Van and sedan service is also available for people traveling in groups. Sedan service is provided using the Lincoln Town Car. The one way rate for this service is $64.00 and up to 4 passengers can be
accommodated. Dedicated van service is provided using 10 passenger vans. The one way rate for this service is $110.00. When calling, please identify yourself as part of the SES 2003 symposium. This will allow you to receive the special rate. To make reservations please call 800-300-5151. Upon arrival to DTW, you may call toll free 800-300-5151 to be directed to your driver.
Parking Information
Parking is available in Ann Arbor City Parking structures for $1.00 per hour in city-owned parking structures. Two suggested structures for symposium parking are:
Maynard Street Public Parking (K-13 on linked map below) Located on Maynard Street between E. William and E. Liberty with an additional entrance off Thompson
between E. Liberty and E. William.
Liberty Square Public Parking (K-11 on linked map below)
Located on Washington Street between Division and State Streets
S. Forest Public Parking (Y-19 on linked map below)
Located on S. Forest Street between S. University and Willard Streets
A downtown parking map is available on the Ann Arbor Conventions and Visitors Bureau website.
Parking is not available in University of Michigan staff parking structures. Parking in downtown Ann Arbor and on the University of Michigan campus is very limited. Public safety officials and Parking officials are diligent in issuing tickets to improperly parked vehicles. Any tickets you receive are your responsibility.
