University of Michigan Graduate Student Poster Competition 2003

 

[Congratulations to Alaa and Brian for winning "Best Content" and "Best Presentation" awards, respectively, for the posters they presented last week at U-M's 2003 college-wide Graduate Student Poster Competition organized by SWE (Society of Women Engineers).

 

 

 

 


American Urogynecological Society (AUGS) Meeting
September 11-13, 2003

James, Kuo-Cheng and John at the AUGS meeting in Hollywood, Florida. Kuo-Cheng gave an outstanding oral presentation. Kuo-Cheng also won the AUGS Prize Paper Award for his paper, "Pelvic Floor Soft Tissue Stretch in Vaginal Birth" with co-authors Brian Mooney, John DeLancey and James Ashton-Miller. The paper will appear in the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, October 2003.

Alaa accepts ASB Clinical Biomechanics Award from 2002 ASB President, Andrew Biewener
on her astounding presentation, "Effect of Age on Detecting a Loss of Balance in a Seated Whole-Body Balancing Task". Her paper will appear in Gait and Posture.

The University of Michigan Ballroom Dance Team took first place at the 2001 and 2002 National Collegiate Dancesport Championships in Columbus Ohio.
