Welcome to ME240 : Introduction to Dynamics
Working Model is a program that will help you to visualize
the motions of some of the systems we are studying in class and watch animations
in real time. Following are instructions to launch Working Model
and to download some example files. Note that there are also a lot of examples
in the Working Model folder.
Starting Working Model
If you are on Mac:

Go to the Engineering and Sciences folder
in Launcher

Open the Working Model folder.

Click on the Working Model 2D icon
If you are on PC:
-
Go to Programs from the Start button, click on folder Engineering
and Science.

Then select Working Model 2D.
Downloading example files
If you are on Mac:
-
Go to the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen and select Chooser

Click on AppleShare and select umich-ENG-CAEN under Apple
Talk Zones

Under Select a file server, choose Macintosh Software
-
Logon as Guest and click on COURSE_FOLDERS
-
A folder now appears on your desktop named COURSE_FOLDERS. Open it, and
select CoE Course Folders

Select ME240
-
Copy the files in this folder into a directory on the Mac Hard Drive (you
may want to create your own directory for this)

Now go to the Working Model window, and go to Open File
-
Go to the directory in which you saved the files, and open whichever one
is of interest (you may want to try projector
first)
If you are on PC:
-
Start Working Model (see above)
-
Under File, click Open File (or click on the open file icon
on the tool bar)

An Open File window will open on your screen. At the top of this window
is a box showing which directory you are looking in. Hit the down arrow
to the right of the box and highlight the drive called Lab on 'Caen-pacific\Data\Software'

Select me240
-
Select Linkage2. This is the file you will use in Computer Assignment
#3.
