Moura Receives Honorable Mention in ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Awards

02/23/2012

MouraME alumnus Scott Moura has been selected in the honorable mention category of the ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Awards. This award recognizes the most exceptional scholarly work produced by doctoral students at the University of Michigan who completed their dissertations in 2011. Among the more than 750 dissertations produced at the University last year, 53 were nominated for this award. Only eight awards and eight honorable mentions were conferred.

Moura’s dissertation was titled “Techniques for Battery Health Conscious Power Management via Electrochemical Modeling and Optimal Control” and his dissertation committee included Penn State Professor Hosam K. Fathy (Co-Chair) and ME Professors Jeffrey L. Stein (Co-Chair), Jessy Grizzle, and Huei Peng.

Moura will be honored at a ceremony on April 26, 2012, 2-4pm, in the Assembly Hall on the fourth floor of the Rackham Building.
