Stein Receives ASME Dedicated Service Award

SteinThe American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has selected ME Professor Jeffrey Stein to receive an ASME Dedicated Service Award.

This award recognizes individuals who have served the society for at least ten years and have contributed unusual dedicated voluntary service to the society marked by outstanding performance, demonstrated effective leadership, prolonged and committed service, devotion, enthusiasm and faithfulness. 

Stein serves as assistant director of the Automotive Research Center. His research interests include systems and control including machine design, control, monitoring, and diagnostics; physical system modeling; automated modeling; bond graph theory; proper modeling of active suspensions; proper vehicle handling and ride models; high efficiency dynamic formulations for vehicle dynamics; monitoring and control of thermally induced spindle bearing loads; and design and control of high speed spindles and novel milling machines.
