Research
In the area of Fluid Mechanics, Judy focuses on numerical modeling of the deformation and solidification of liquid metal drops. She studies net-shape particle deposition with rapid prototyping applications.

Activities:

  • Memeber, MEAM Curriculum Committee
  • Graduate student instructor for Senior Mechanical Engineering Design Course for five terms
  • Her MEAM Career:
    "I selected the U-M because the MEAM graduate program is one of the top five int he country, and the Fluid Mechanics area is very strong. The University also has excellent research facilities and its computing facilities are among the best in the country. Because I had been an undergraduate here, I knew the people were friendly and it was a comfortable atmosphere."

    Judy plans to work in industry for about 10 years, then teach at a small university.
