The Carroll J. Haas, Sr. (BSE '47) Distinguished Lectureship in Manufacturing was delivered this November by Dennis K. Pawley, executive vice-president manufacturing, for Chrysler Corp. Haas, a member of MEAM's External Advisory Board, established a dean's discretionary endowment fund in the CoE. 60s

Michael E. Korybalski (BSEME '69, MSE '73, MBA '80) recently accepted the Presidential "E Star" Award of Exports on behalf of his company, Mechanical Dynamics, Inc., of Ann Arbor. Korybalski is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Mechanical Dynamics, a worldwide supplier of software and services for the virtual prototyping market. The "E" Award program was established in 1961 to recognize firms that contribute significantly to the expansion of U.S. exports. A second award, the "E Star," was created in 1969 to honor previous "E" Award recipients for continued export growth. Mechanical Dynamics earned the "E" Award in 1991. This year, the company became one of only 12 Michigan firms to receive the "E Star" Award.
