[New Faculty]

Welcome to Margaret Wooldridge,
who joins the MEAM faculty as an assistant professor, effective July 1998. She received both her Doctorate (1995) and her Master's (1990) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Wooldridge's research interests focus on the experimental investigation of combustion synthesis phenomena, including synthesis of nanosize particles, theoretical modeling of the corresponding high-temperature gas-phase chemistry; and development of novel, non-intrusive optical diagnostics. She is also interested in hydrocarbon combustion pollution mitigation technology, such as reburn techniques and post-processing treatments; the development of optical diagnostics for in situ monitoring applications; and aerosols and gas dynamic systems. She is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the Combustion Institute.
