Advanced Math Requirements

The following classes are recommended as satisfying the advanced math requirement. The class must be elected for a letter-grade.

  • ME400 - Mechanical Engineering Analysis
  • MA354 - Fourier Analysis and its Applications
  • MA417 - Matrix Algebra I
  • MA450 - Advanced Mathematics for Engineers I
  • MA454 - Boundary Value Problems for Partial Differential Equations
  • MA371 - (EN371) Numerical Methods for Engineers & Scientists
  • MA471 - Introduction to Numerical Methods
  • CEE303 (EN303) Computational Methods for Engineers & Scientists
  • STAT412 - Introduction to Probability and Statistics
  • STAT425 / MA425 - Introduction to Probability
  • STAT426 - Introduction to Theoretical Statistics

In general, any other mathematics course at the 300-level or higher that requires MA216 or MA215 as a prerequisite will also be acceptable.

SGUS students: only 400-level or higher courses will count towards the SGUS program.
