ME Community ME Annual Report 2019-2020

The U-M ME community celebrated achievements a lot differently in 2020. Without an actual in-person graduation, U-M ME faculty, staff, and alumni had to get creative when thinking of a way to acknowledge the great accomplishments of graduates. Check out the video below.

Messages from the ME Community

Things may be different but turbulent periods like this unlock change; can't wait to work with you for a fair and clean energy future. - Anna Stefanopoulou, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Things are different but through our struggles together we rise above it all, where we gain new perspectives and opportunities. - Chinedum Okwudire, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Things may be different but I look foward to seeing how our creative, inventive, and collaborative Mechanical Engineers will continue to make positive changes for our world this fall! - Julie Tashjian, Undergrad Academic Advisor Things may be different but we're all rowing the same boat and we'll make it through this together! - Kristel Oelke, Undergrad Academic Advisor Things are different but Michigan is strong. We are here for each other and we are resilient. - Elise Bodei, Student Services Manager Things are different but change helps us rethink everything, illuminating new challenges and solutions that we will solve together! - Elliott Rouse, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Things are different, but your resiliency, creativity, and passion will continue to benefit the common good globally. - Gregory Hulbert, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Things may be different but as engineers at U-M we are ideally positioned to respond to uncertainty and a changing environment. - Jesse Capecelatro, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Things may be different, but Engineers go to work when presented with big challenges. Just as the toughest metals are forged through fire, we will persist and perservere through these times! - Jon Estrada, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Things are different but I cannot wait to see you all in a fresh look! - Kazu Saitou, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Things appear to be different, but it's comforting that 'F still does equal MA' and so let's work together to learn how to apply that for the benefit of all! - Noel Perkins, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
