ME Annual Report 2020-2021
The U-M ME community stuck together to adjust to our new normal in 2020-2021. We weathered the loss of one of our own, renowned scholar and world-leader in laser-based manufacturing Professor Jyoti Mazumder, and welcomed the Nemirovsky Family Dean of Penn Engineering Vijay Kumar as our 2021 Korybalski lecturer. Students returned to campus for in-person learning, but to remain as safe as possible, we held graduation virtually.
This past year, the ME DEI Committee sat down with a different member of the ME community each week during Black History Month.
