ME Department Chair elected to AIMBE Makenzie Schlessman

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has announced the election of Ellen Arruda, Tim Manganello / BorgWarner Department Chair and Maria Comninou Collegiate Chair, Mechanical Engineering, the University of Michigan to its College of Fellows.

Arruda was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the AIMBE College of Fellows for outstanding contributions to the understanding of soft tissue biomechanics including novel tissue engineered constructs for ligament and tendon replacement.

A formal induction ceremony will be held during AIMBE’s 2022 Annual Event on March 25. Dr. Arruda will be inducted along with 152 colleagues who make up the AIMBE Fellow Class of 2022. For more information about the AIMBE Annual Event, please visit www.aimbe.org.
