Advising Appointments

~ALL ADVISING WILL TAKE PLACE REMOTELY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE PER COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS.~

To schedule an appointment for academic advising, please visit our online scheduling system. If appointment times are full, please note that walk-in advising hours can be a way to see an advisor earlier and are available 3 days a week.  Please see those times below.

Email me-aso@umich.edu for undergraduate students and me-grad-coordinator@umich.edu for graduate students:

  • Quick questions that do not require a meeting. Response times vary, but we strive to get back to students within 24-48 business hours.

    • For example: referrals, letter requests, overrides.

    • For appointments with the Undergraduate or Graduate Chair, please email and one of the advisors will set you up with an appointment, if necessary.

Virtual Walk-in Advising (Fall and Winter terms only):

  • 10-15 minute appointments. If the meeting takes longer than 15 minutes, we will ask you to schedule a follow-up appointment.

    • For example: course selection, connecting with academic and general campus resources, general graduate funding questions, navigating rules and policies.
