David Kwabi Awarded ASME Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) partnered with Pi Tau Sigma (National Mechanical Engineering Honor Society) in 1938 to create the joint award of the Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal. This award celebrates and honors outstanding work in mechanical engineering within ten years following graduation with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. 

Assistant Professor of Mechanica Engineering, David Kwabi, has been awarded this year’s ASME Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal. Kwabi joined the U-M ME department in June of 2018, prior to expecting his current position he received his masters and PhD from Massachusetts Institue of Technology in 2013 and 2016. Before entering his graduate career he completed his BSE in mechanical engineering from Princeton University in 2010. 

Kwabi’s research focuses on energy storage materials, CO2 capture and storage, solar energy conversion, organic batteries, and renewable energy. Learn more about David Kwabi’s research.
