ORIGINAL STORY

When inspiration hits, it’s hard to ignore. That’s why a group of four Michigan mechanical engineering students decided to craft their very own senior design project. It just so happens that their project was designing and building a massive human controlled Rubik’s Cube. Follow the four of them through conception to completion of their initial design, and see what it takes to scale something that fits in the palm of your hand to a four by four foot, 1500 pound tribute to one of the world’s most beloved puzzles.

Martin Harris, Samuelina Wright, Dan Hiemstra, and Kelsey Hockstad are all mechanical engineering alumni.
