Hu receives SME Gold Medal

Jack Hu

Jack Hu, the J. Reid and Polly Anderson Professor of Manufacturing Technology, has received the 2017 SME Gold Medal. This award recognizes outstanding service to the manufacturing engineering profession in technical communications through published literature, technical writings or lectures. Hu is a professor of Mechanical Engineering and of Industrial and Operations Engineering. He is also the U-M Vice President for Research.

Hu has been a member of the U-M community since 1985. He earned his B.S. degree from Tianjin University in China and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
