Jianping Fu Elected to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering College of Fellows

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows is a society of the most accomplished individuals who are outstanding bioengineers in academia, industry, clinical practice, and government. It is compromised of over 2,000 of these individuals and this March, Jianping Fu will join their ranks. Fu will be inducted into the AIMBE at their Annual Event Induction Ceremony on March 29-30, 2020, at the National Academy of Sciences, in Washington, D.C. 

Fu is an associate professor of U-M Mechanical Engineering, biomedical engineering, cell, and developmental biology, and is the Associate Director of the Michigan Center for Integrative Research in Critical Care. Early this year his research on creating embryo-like structures to look into why most pregnancies fail within their first trimester. He explains why these models are needed and how it can help with the testing of drugs and other chemicals that pregnant mothers my need in an article released in May of 2018.
