Kikuchi Receives Computational Structural Mechanics Award

06/24/2011

KikuchiME Professor Noboru Kikuchi has been selected as the recipient of the U.S. Association for Computational Mechanics Computational Structural Mechanics Award for “seminal contributions to the field of topology optimization in computational structural design.”

This award will be presented at the USACM Appreciation Dinner during the 11th U.S. National Congress on Computational Mechanics, being held in July 2011 in Minneapolis.

Kikuchi’s research interests are in the areas of finite element methods, metal forming, friction contact problems, numerical grid generation, structural optimization, computation composite mechanics and symbolic manipulation software.
