Li and Wang win ASME 2016 Best Paper Award in Structures and Structural Dynamics

Suyi Li and Kon-Well Wang, the Tim Manganello/BorgWarner Department Chair of Mechanical Engineering and Stephen P. Timoshenko Collegiate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, have received the ASME 2016 Best Paper Award in Structures and Structural Dynamics. Li is an ME alumnus as well as an Assistant Professor at Clemson University.

This prestigious annual award is presented by the ASME Branch on Adaptive Structures and Material Systems. Li and Wang’s paper is titled “Fluidic origami: a plant-inspired adaptive structure with shape morphing and stiffness tuning” and was published in Smart Materials and Structures.
