06/30/2017

ME Professor David Dowling’s graduate student Brian Worthmann was honored with a first place award at the “Gallery of Acoustics” competition at the 173rd Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in Boston this past June.

Worthmann’s display was titled “Kaleidosone” from the Greek for Kalos (beautiful), Eidos (form), and Latin for Sonus (sound). The display was an instructive visual representation of an acoustic field formed through the method-of-images.
