U-M ME Celebrates 150 Years
2018 marked a major milestone for University of Michigan (U-M) Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) – its 150th anniversary! The U-M ME program pioneered the field 150 years ago, and continues to be a world leader in research and education, both basic and translational, from bio- & health systems, emerging manufacturing, energy & environment to future transportation and beyond.
We hosted a variety of sesquicentennial events including a series of Distinguished Lectures as well as our annual Michael Korybalski Endowed Lecture. We received many stories from U-M ME students, alumni, faculty, and staff sharing how their ME experience helped to shape their lives and careers.
