Smart Manufacturing Series – Dr. Sneha Prabha Narra
April 18 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Explore the future of metal additive manufacturing with Dr. Sneha Prabha Narra as she discusses microstructure control, covering local melt pool-level solidification and global part-level solid-state transformations. The presentation will include case studies, highlight opportunities for enhanced controllability, and emphasize the need for advanced process optimization to tailor material properties effectively.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Sneha Prabha Narra specializes in process-structure-property relationships in fusion-based metal additive manufacturing using experimental and computational approaches. With a background in civil and mechanical engineering from Osmania University and Carnegie Mellon University, she has previously taught at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is now part of Carnegie Mellon’s mechanical engineering department. Dr. Narra also serves as the Associate Editor of the Additive Manufacturing journal.
