The American Chemical Society (ACS) honors a early-career researcher who demonstrates exceptional technical advancement and innovation in the field of microfluidics or nanofluidics with the Analytical Chemistry Award. The award is co-sponsored by Analytical Chemistry and Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society (CBMS) and is selected yearly.
For the 2020 Analytical Chemistry Award, ACS has selected Jianping Fu. He is a professor of mechanical and biomedical engineering, along with cell and developmental biology. Fu’s research areas include cell mechanics, mechanobiology, stem cell bioengineering, developmental bioengineering, and BioMEMS.
It has been an exciting year for Fu as he has also been elected as a fellow of the ASME, IEEE, RSC, and AIMBE. Among his fellowships he has also been awarded the Robert M. Caddell Memorial Award for Research from U-M Engineering.
