ME Professor David Dowling has accepted a six-month appointment as Chair of the Academic Affairs Advisory Committee (AAAC). AAAC acts as an advisor to the Provost and the Vice President for Academic Affairs. In conjunction with Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs and Senate Assembly, AAAC identifies and consults on academic issues concerning the University.
Dowling’s research interests include fluid mechanics and acoustics, turbulence and turbulent mixing, fluid-structure interaction, free-surface flows, and liquid polymer flow. Dowling became a fellow of the Acoustical Society of America in 2002. Last year he was honored by the CoE with the Education Excellence Award.
