Dowling Elected ASME Fellow

DowlingThe American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has elected ME Professor David Dowling an ASME Fellow. The Society’s Fellow Grade recognizes significant engineering achievements and contributions to the engineering profession.

Dowling is internationally recognized in the field of acoustics for his pioneering work in time reversal methods, array signal processing, and photoacoustic leak detection, as well as in the field of fluid mechanics for contributions in turbulent mixing and wall-bounded flow measurement. In 2009 the College of Engineering awarded Dowling an Education Excellence Award.
