Engineering Resource Center Sponsors Summer Research Program (SROP)

08/16/2007

The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) / Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) offers outstanding undergraduates the chance to work closely with faculty in an intensive summer research experience. REU/SROP gives undergraduate students first-hand exposure to the graduate school experience and faculty life by placing them with faculty whose work is closely related to their academic interests and career goals. Students work under faculty mentorship either on an individual basis or as part of a research team. Research teams may also include graduate students, research scientists, and other REU students.

The program lasts eight weeks, from June 5 through August 2, 2002. Students from groups historically underrepresented in engineering and physical or natural sciences are eligible. The application deadline is February 28, 2002.

Participants will receive a stipend over the course of the program, round-trip travel expenses, University housing, and other opportunities.
