Jack Hu, the J. Reid and Polly Anderson Professor of Manufacturing Technology, has been selected to receive the 2012 ASME William T. Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award for “pioneering the development of innovative methodologies for predicting and diagnosing quality variation in multistage assembly systems, and methods for designing manufacturing system configurations; and their implementation in automotive body assembly and battery manufacturing.”
The ASME William T. Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award is one of the most prestigious awards in manufacturing. It was established in 1990, to recognize an individual or team of individuals for developing or contributing significantly to an innovative manufacturing technology, the implementation of which has resulted in substantial economic and/or societal benefits.
In addition to being a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and a Professor of Industrial and Operations Engineering, Jack Hu is the J. Reid and Polly Anderson Professor of Manufacturing Technology, as well as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering.
