John Hart Featured at MESLB Research Seminar

02/16/2009

HartThe Mechanical Engineering Student Leadership Board (MESLB) invites all interested individuals to attend its first research seminar of the winter semester.

Assistant Professor John Hart is responsible for some of the most iconic images to come out of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the past year, including the world-famous Nanobamas! But nanotechnology is much more than pop art. The carbon nanotubes (CNTs) used to make these images are long molecular structures that have exceptional properties, including several times the strength and stiffness of steel at one-fourth the density, and thermal and electrical conductivity exceeding that of copper. Come learn about how these amazing nanostructures are produced and studied, and hear more about Hart’s groundbreaking research!
