Professor Elijah Kannatey-Asibu has been selected to receive the 2015 SME Education Award. This award “honors the educator most respected for the development of manufacturing-related curricula, fostering sound training methods or inspiring students to enter the profession of manufacturing.”
Kannatey-Asibu is the former Director of the Manufacturing Program, which is one of the top ranked programs in the country. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in design and manufacturing. His research focuses on micro fabrication using femtosecond lasers, multiple-beam laser processing, multi-sensor monitoring of manufacturing processes, and acoustic emission signal analysis.
