Mazumder awarded M. Eugene Merchant Manufacturing Medal

Jyoti Mazumder, the Robert H. Lurie Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has won the M. Eugene Merchant Manufacturing Medal. Mazumder is also a professor of Materials Science and Engineering, as well as the Director of the Center for Laser-Aided Intelligent Manufacturing and the Director of NSF I/UCRC for Lasers and Plasmas for Advanced Manufacturing.

The M. Eugene Merchant Manufacturing Medal of ASME/SME is awarded to an individual who has had significant influence and responsibility for improving the productivity and efficiency (either by research or by implementation of research) of the manufacturing operation.
