ME student Connor Jaeger to compete in the London Olympics

jaeger Results Update: Jaeger took sixth place in the men’s 1500m freestyle swim with a time of 14:52:99. China’s Sun Yang won with a world-record time of 14:31:02.

On July 2nd, ME undergraduate student Connor Jaeger competed in the Men’s 1500-Meter Freestyle at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. Connor secured his invitation to the 2012 London Olympics by finishing the trial with a time of 14:52.51.

The London Olympic games will be held from July 27th to August 12th. The Men’s 1500m Freestyle race will begin on August 3rd and will end with finals on August 4th. The freestyle stroke is the fastest stroke and the distance of the race measures 30 lengths of the pool.

Connor is from Fair Haven, N.J., and will be starting his Junior year at U-M this fall.
