Oh Awarded Young Investigator Award

ohME doctoral candidate Youkeun Oh has been chosen to receive the Young Investigator (Gold) Award at the 2010 World Congress on Biomechanics for his paper entitled “Effect of Impulsive Tibial Axial Torque Direction on ACL Relative Strain and Strain Rate in a Simulated Jump Landing.”

ME Research Professor James Ashton-Miller and Professor Ed Wojtys of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery serve as advisors on the project. Oh’s research was conducted in the Biomechanics Research Laboratory with technical assistance from the Orthopedic Research Laboratories and MedSport, and is funded by an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health.

Oh will present his paper at the World Congress on Biomechanics, to be held August 1 through 6 in Singapore. More than 2,000 delegates from around the world are expected to attend the conference.
