Perkins Receives Outstanding Distance Learning Award

Professor Noel Perkins has been selected as the 2007 General Motors Technical Education Program Outstanding Distance Learning Faculty Award recipient.

This award is given for practicing exceptional instruction and exemplary delivery of a course utilizing distance learning technologies. Examples of the criteria considered are: impact of course on job performance; effective presentation by the instructor; homework and exams returned on a timely basis; and the instructor’s availability for consultation. The award recipient is selected using the student evaluations at the end of each semester and criteria determined by GM. The evaluation analysis process allows GM to compare instructional effectiveness across universities.

Perkins was selected from among instructors from 20 different Universities; it is the second time he is so recognized in the past ten years.
