While the basic functions of automatic transmissions haven’t changed much over the years, new demands for fuel economy and performance have made designing systems that control modern transmissions difficult. Luckily for the mechanical engineering world, Professor Huei Peng has a new book, Dynamic Analysis and Control System Design of Automatic Transmissions, that explains the best way to design modern transmission control systems in cars, trucks, buses and commercial vehicles.
