SubQ Assist Device

The Sienko Research Group won first place, including a $10,000 prize, for the SubQ Assist Device in the Unite for Sight Innovation Pitch Contest at the Global Health & Innovation Conference (GHIC) held April 22-23. The device, which is designed to aid healthcare providers in the administration of long-acting contraception in low and middle-income countries, makes it easy to administer long –acting contraception; allowing Ministries of Health to task-shift this procedure to Community Health Workers who are more accessible to women in rural populations. The prize money received will go toward the development and commercialization of the device.
