Solomon Adera, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, has received the 2024 ASME K-16 Outstanding Early Faculty Career in Thermal Management Award.

The award Is given to a talented young faculty member showing potential to have great impact to the Thermal Science and Thermal Management in Electronics, which is judged to be of exceptional technical research quality, publication record, contributions, leadership and teaching roles in the relevant community and in particular K-16 sponsored conferences, programs and events.

Adera is the principal investigator of the Energy Transport Laboratory, where he and his team explores heat and mass transfer, phase-change (evaporation, condensation, freezing), water/fog harvesting, micro/nanoengineering, and fluid-structure interactions.

The award was presented to Adera on October 9, 2024 at the ASME InterPACK conference in Silicon Valley, California.
