Song receives ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award, Sun receives Honorable Mention

ME PhD Candidate Bai Song was selected to receive a ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award for 2015. This award, which includes an honorarium of $1,000, is given in recognition of the most exceptional scholarly work produced by doctoral students at the University of Michigan who completed their dissertations in 2015. Song’s dissertation is titled “Probing Radiative Thermal Transport at the Nanoscale” and his advisors are Professor Edgar Meyhofer and Associate Professor Pramod Sangi Reddy.

In addition, ME PhD Candidate Yubing Sun’s dissertation was chosen for Honorable Mention among those that were nominated for the Rackham Graduate School’s 2015 ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Awards. Sun’s dissertation is titled “Forcing Stem Cells to Behave: Dissecting the Mechanobiology of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells Using Microengineering Approaches” and his advisor is Associate Professor Jianping Fu.

 

The awards will be presented at a ceremony and reception from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Assembly Hall on the fourth floor of the Rackham Building.
