Autonomous vehicles may be the way of the future and what better approach to get high school students interested in pursuing careers in engineering than creating a two-part workshop focused on learning more about them.
ME PhD Candidate Xinyu Tan has been selected to receive the Helen Wu Award ($8,000).
The award is named in honor of Helen Lun Chen Wu who accepted the offer of a Barbour Scholarship from the University of Michigan where she received her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry in 1953.
ME alumnus Dr. Mostafa Bedewy has recently been recognized by the College of Engineering for his academic excellence, constituted by a precise 4.0 GPA.
Bedewy earned his PhD from the University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2013 and was awarded the “Richard F. and Eleanor A. Towner Prize for Distinguished Academic Achievement” this past March 2014.
The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) has selected Shima H. Abadi, University alumna, to receive the Best Paper Award in Animal Bioacoustics for 2013.
