Professor Dawn Tilbury has been selected to receive the Society of Women Engineers’ Distinguished Engineering Educator Award. This award is presented to a woman who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and has made significant contributions to the engineering profession.
The Distinguished Educator Award was introduced this year and can only be awarded to SWE Members. The candidate is selected based on her teaching ability and ability to inspire students to attain high levels of accomplishment, her scholarly work, and her professional society activities.
Tilbury’s research interests include control theory and applications in many different domains. Within the ERC for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems, she has worked in the areas of logic control and networked control systems.
