U-M ME professor selected as Session Lead Speaker at the NAE Symposium on Extraordinary Engineering Impacts on Society

Dr. Kon-Well Wang, Stephen P. Timoshenko Collegiate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, was selected and invited to be a Session Lead Speaker and a Panelist at the Symposium on Extraordinary Engineering Impacts on Society organized by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.  The session’s focus was on the impacts of the U.S. National Science Foundation’s (NSF’s) Center activities.  The session was held on August 19, 2022, through a webinar format broadcasted to the community (https://www.nae.edu/280409/Symposium-on-Extraordinary-Engineering-Impacts-on-Society).

At the session, Dr. Wang set the stage by giving an overview of the NSF Engineering Research Center (ERC) Program and its impact on science, engineering, and society and paved the path for the other speakers in the session to discuss their centers’ activities and contributions.
