Associate Professor Angela Violi has been selected to receive the UM Faculty Recognition Award.
The award is for mid-career faculty who have distinguished themselves through research, teaching, mentorship and participation in service activities. Last year, Violi was also the recipient of the 2013 Henry Russel Award, for her achievements in research and scholarship.
Violi is also an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, as well as the leader of the Multiscale Molecular Science and Engineering Lab. Her lab’s research focuses on multiscale processes occurring in reactive systems, with applications crosscutting combustion, nanoscience and biology.
