Wang Receives ASME Rudolf Kalman Award

Kon-Well WangME Department Chair Professor Kon-Well Wang has received the Rudolf Kalman Best Paper Award. This award is administered by the Dynamic Systems and Control Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering. Wang’s paper was selected by the division’s executive committee.

Wang has served as chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 2008. His research interests include structural dynamics and vibration, adaptive material systems, structural control and health monitoring.

Other recent awards include the ASME Adaptive Structures and Materials System Prize for significant contributions to the advancement of the sciences associated with adaptive structures and/or material systems, and the N. O. Myklestad Award for major innovative contributions to vibration engineering.
