Zheng-Dong Ma Elected a Fellow of ASME

Zheng-Dong MaME Research Scientist Zheng-Dong Ma has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Ma has over the years consistently made outstanding contributions to the fields of multibody systems dynamics, vehicle simulation and design, structural dynamics, and systems optimization. His contributions have been significant and his work has been of the highest level. He has served as a member of the ASME Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics Technical Committee since 2003. He has organized multiple symposia associated with ASME conferences, and his research has resulted in now 60 refereed journal articles.

Ma’s research has been distinguished by best paper awards from ASME, Society of Automotive Engineers, Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Japan Association of Automatic Control Engineers, and the Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. In 2005, Ma received the 2004-2005 Outstanding Research Scientist Award from the University of Michigan College of Engineering, which is a highly competitive and prestigious distinction. Since 2007, he is recognized as a Hai Tian Scholar of the College of Automotive Engineering at the Dalian University of Technology in Dalian China.
