The University of Michigan College of Engineering’s Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program is built on the fundamental principles of thermal and fluid sciences, solid mechanics and materials, and dynamics and controls.
Our undergraduate students pursue research in a wide range of areas and disciplines, including:

APPLYING TO OUR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM:
First-year undergraduate students can apply to the College of Engineering through The Common Application or The Coalition Application. Students typically declare their major during sophomore year, and then can select Mechanical Engineering as their major for a BSE in Mechanical Engineering.
