U-M ME Gears Up to Celebrate 150 Years
Dear University of Michigan Mechanical Engineering Friends and Family,
It is with great excitement and pride that I announce that next year, 2018, the University of Michigan (U-M) Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) will mark a major milestone - U-M ME will celebrate its 150th! The U-M ME program pioneered the field 150 years ago, and continues to be a world leader in research and education, both basic and translational, from bio- & health systems, emerging manufacturing, energy & environment to future transportation and beyond.
Starting Winter 2018, we will begin a variety of sesquicentennial events including a series of Distinguished Lectures as well as our annual Michael Korybalski Endowed Lecture in the spring. We're also looking to hear from you with the hope that you'll share your U-M ME story; how your ME experience helped to shape your lives and careers. Please click here to Share Your Story. On September 21st and 22nd 2018, we invite you to celebrate our rich history, exciting present and ambitious future on campus. Please visit me.engin.umich.edu/me150/schedule for a full schedule of educational and fun events we hope you'll mark your calendars to join us for!
