Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering, Galip Ulsoy, and his wife Susan Glowski have provided an endowment gift to establish the E. & M. Ulsoy Citation Leader Award Fund. This honor is awarded annually to the U-M ME faculty member with the largest number of citations to his/her research work in the Scopus Database that year. Each recipient may receive the award only once.
Don Siegel is a Professor of mechanical engineering (ME) and is finishing his term as Associate Chair for Graduate Education in ME. His research areas focus on the development of high-capacity materials and systems for energy storage applications; computational materials science; nanoscale chemistry and its impact on the mechanical properties of materials; thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transformations; multi-scale modeling; and integrated computational materials engineering.
