Koren’s Book to Be Published

ME Professor Yoram Koren’s textbook, The Global Manufacturing Revolution: Product-Process-Business Integration and Reconfigurable Systems, will be published in June 2010 by John Wiley. The book discusses how manufacturing enterprises can succeed in globalization, and calls for a restructuring of the three main units of manufacturing enterprises: product design, manufacturing, and business model.

Koren serves as director of the NSF Engineering Research Center for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems. His research interests include reconfigurable manufacturing systems, global manufacturing, flexible automation, sensing and controls of machining processes, and generation of complex surfaces in CNC.
