ME Ph.D. Wins Jefferson Goblet Best Student Paper Award

Ph.D. student Siva Shankar Rudraraju beat out over 90 competitors to win the 2009 Jefferson Goblet Best Student Paper Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The award is given by the AIAA to a strong piece of writing by a student in support of the continued research and development of flight engineering.

Siva is doing his Ph.D thesis under the direction of ME Associate Professor Krishna Garikipati, and Anthony Waas, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Felix Pawlowski Collegiate Professor of Aerospace Engineering. His winning paper was co-authored by Profs. Garikipati and Waas along with Amit Salvi from Aerospace Engineering.
