Professor Noel Perkins Receives Amoco Award

NoelPerkins Professor Noel Perkins ( https://me-web2.engin.umich.edu/zope/pubdir/bio?uniqname=ncp ) was one of two faculty from across the University of Michigan to receive the 2002 Amoco Undergraduate Teaching Award for “demonstrated excellence in instruction at the undergraduate level.”

Nominations are reviewed by an interdisciplinary committee composed of distinguished faculty from a range of U-M schools and colleges. Awardees are selected by the Dean of the Graduate School, based upon the recommendations of this committee.

Perkins was nominated by ME Chair Dennis Assanis. This year, 15 faculty were nominated for the award.

The Amoco Awards are presented at a special ceremony in the fall, along with other major awards such as Distinguished University Professorships, Distinguished Faculty Achievement, Faculty Recognition and Regents’ Distinguished Public Service Awards.
