The William T. Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award was presented to Steve Skerlos, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Skerlos focuses on sustainable design and runs the Environmental and Sustainable Technologies Lab at U-M. They address sustainability challenges in the fields of system design, technology selection, manufacturing, and water. He is also the Director of the U-M Program in Sustainable Engineer and Co-Director of the Engineering Sustainable Systems Program.
The William T. Ennor Technology Award is presented to an individual or team for developing or contributing significantly to an innovative manufacturing technology, the implementation of which has resulted in substantial economic and/or societal benefits. This award was established by the Production Engineering Division in conjunction with the Alcoa Company in 1990.
